Would you like to answer questions, solve problems, and support decision-making processes?
As a Data Analyst, your role is to ascertain how data can be used in order to answer questions and solve problems. You will be responsible for requirement-gathering, inspecting, cleansing, transforming and modelling data with the goal of discovering useful information, informing conclusions and supporting decision-making. You will need to have strong communication skills as you will be liaising and sharing your work with different stakeholders. You will also need a good eye for details as you will be working with a lot of data and information that requires accuracy when handling the workload.

Training BreakdownBlended and Work-based Learning. Including, Face to Face workshops, digital learning and self-study.
Required Skills & Qualifications

At least 5 GCSEs C grade (grade 4) or above including Maths and English plus any of the following:

  • 2 A Level passes (A-E) in 1 or more STEM subject, or
  • BTEC extended diploma in a similar subject or STEM T-Level Grades in a similar subject, or
  • Level 3 Apprenticeship at Pass in an appropriate discipline

You must NOT already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship

Note: “Similar subject” relates to areas directly relevant to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) subjects.

During your apprenticeship, you will acquire valuable skills and knowledge, including:

Data Analytics: Mastering the art of collecting, processing, and analysing data to derive meaningful insights, adding immense value to any organization.
Data Technologies: Gaining proficiency in cutting-edge big data tools and technologies, allowing you to work with vast datasets efficiently.
Data Security and Privacy: Understanding the critical aspects of data protection, ensuring the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive information.
Data Visualization: Learning to communicate complex data findings through engaging and informative visualizations, making data accessible to a broader audience.
Project Management: Acquiring the skills to manage data projects effectively, ensuring they're delivered on time and within scope.

  • Assess the impact on user experience and domain context on data analysis activity
  • Identify data sources and the risks and challenges to combination within data analysis activity
  • Select and apply the most appropriate data tools to achieve the optimum outcome

This apprenticeship aligns with British Computer Society for Registered IT Technician (RITTech)

What are my career prospects after graduating?

Upon successful completion of the Data Analyst Degree program an Apprentice will be able to apply for a promotion within a Data Analyst full time role or seek other opportunities globally across Amazon and AWS. You'll have the skills and knowledge to explore or progress towards various high-level roles in the data/technology sector, including:

Data Scientist; Data Analyst; Data Engineer; Machine Learning Engineer; Data Security Specialist; Project Manager; Business analyst; Cyber security professional; Software engineer

Application Process and Timeline

Online application
Upload your CV, fill in your details, answer the eligibility questions and complete a short online assessment

(Applications for opportunities in our corporate side of the business open 11th December 2023)
(Applications for opportunities in the logistics side of the business, will open later in 2024)
Game-based assessment
You may be asked to complete a series of short game-based tasks designed to identify your strengths and assess your suitability for the role
Video Interview
Video interview to tell us about your background, motivations, knowledge, skills and interests
Virtual / Onsite Assessment Centre
Assessment centres include: a group exercise, presentation and individual interviews
Offer
If successful we will extend you and offer to join our programmes and our recruitment teams will send you a contract of employment
Onboarding process
Our recruitment teams will complete the necessary background checks, register you with the programme training provider and obtain any personal information needed to begin your employment
In-person Introductions
Ahead of starting with us, if you're role is based in a corporate office, you'll be invited to the Amazon building to get to meet the team and your cohort of apprentices.

For apprentices offered a role based in Manchester, the introduction session will be 27th June 2024.
For apprentices offered a role based in London, the introduction session will be 4th July 2024.
Start
You'll then be ready to join us on your Apprenticeship programme
