As an Events Assistant Apprentice, you'll have the opportunity to support our seasoned team of event professionals in planning, organising, and delivering a diverse range of events – from conferences and trade shows to outdoor festivals and corporate galas. Whether you're liaising with venues, coordinating logistics, or managing delegate registrations, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the seamless execution of every event.

Required Skills & Qualifications

For the apprenticeship programme we prioritise applicants eligible to government funding for their apprenticeship and for this you need to:

  • Be 18 years or over before the start date
  • Have the right to live and work in England (if you are on a visa, this needs to enable you to legally work and reside in England for the entire duration of the programme).
  • Have lived in the UK or in the European Economic Area (EEA) for the last 3 years
  • Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme
  • Not be registered to study on a UK government funded course ending June 2025 or later
  • Have 5 GCSEs at grade 4-9 (A-C) or above (or equivalent) including Maths and English

PLEASE NOTE: This position is an 18 month fixed-term contract.

You must NOT already have a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship

What are the core components of this apprenticeship?

As an Events Assistant Apprentice, you'll gain hands-on experience and training in areas such as:

Venue & Location Selection: Gathering and collating information to assist in the selection of event venues and locations.
Event Planning & Preparation: Responding to requests from different functional teams to support the planning and preparation of events.
On-Site Event Support: Providing on-site assistance during events, including delegate registration and general event operations.
Event Technology Utilization: Utilizing event technology platforms and in-house software to streamline event management.
Communication & Relationship Building: Fostering trust and rapport with colleagues, suppliers, and customers.
Commercial Awareness: Gaining an understanding of event budgets, project management, and factors that drive business success.
Continuous Improvement: Applying resourcefulness and initiative to help improve event offerings and exceed customer expectations.
Organisation & Planning: Demonstrating exceptional communication, organisation, and planning skills.

What will I learn as I progress through my course?

  • Event Lifecycle Management: Understanding the full lifecycle of an event, from research and planning to delivery and evaluation.
  • Stakeholder Coordination: Effectively liaising with various stakeholders, including venues, suppliers, and internal teams.
  • Operations Management: Overseeing the logistical coordination and on-site execution of events.
  • Marketing & Promotion: Supporting the development and implementation of marketing and promotional strategies.
  • Event Technology Integration: Leveraging event software and digital tools to enhance efficiency and data-driven decision making.
  • Performance Measurement: Analysing event metrics and using insights to continuously improve event offerings.
  • Risk Management: Identifying and mitigating potential risks to ensure the safety and security of events.

Virtual / Onsite Assessment Centre
Assessment centres include: a group exercise, presentation and individual interviews

(Assessment centres for this role are expected to take place between Feb - May 2025)
Offer
If successful we will extend you an offer to join our programmes and our recruitment teams will send you a contract of employment
Onboarding process
Our recruitment teams will complete the necessary background checks, register you with the programme training provider and obtain any personal information needed to begin your employment
Start
You'll then be ready to join us on your Apprenticeship programme
