Are you someone who enjoys problem-solving, spotting patterns, and making sure things work exactly as they should?

As a Software Tester Apprentice, you'll play a key role in helping ensure Amazon’s technology runs smoothly and reliably for millions of customers.

You’ll work alongside experienced testing and engineering teams to test software products, uncover defects, analyse system behaviour, and help ensure every release meets high standards of quality. This apprenticeship is perfect for someone who is curious, detail-focused, and excited to learn how great software is built.

About the role

As a Software Tester Apprentice, you’ll be part of the teams that validate the functionality, performance, and reliability of Amazon’s systems. You’ll gain hands-on experience across the full testing lifecycle - from analysing requirements and planning test scenarios to executing tests and reporting insights to developers and stakeholders.

You’ll collaborate with engineers, product managers, and business teams, learning how software moves from idea to launch and how to safeguard its quality at every stage.

As a Software Tester Apprentice, you will be involved in activities such as:

  • Analysing requirements to identify what needs to be tested
  • Designing, planning, and executing manual and automated tests
  • Investigating issues, logging defects, and helping developers reproduce problems
  • Using testing tools and frameworks to validate software
  • Reviewing test results and reporting findings to technical teams
  • Contributing to quality reviews and risk assessments
  • Supporting continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance test coverage or efficiency

Eligibility requirements

To be eligible for this apprenticeship, you must:

  • Be 18 years or over before the start date
  • Have the right to live and work in the country where the role is located
  • Have lived in the UK or EEA for the last 3 years
  • Be a resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme
  • Not be registered on another UK government-funded course ending July 2026 or later
  • Have 5 GCSEs at grade C/4 or above, including Maths and English
  • Have one of the following:
    • An A Level in a STEM subject
    • A BTEC Diploma in a STEM subject
    • A Level 3 IT apprenticeship
  • Not already hold a qualification in a similar subject at the same or higher level
  • Be able to provide evidence of all qualifications

Onboarding process
Our recruitment teams will complete the necessary background checks, register you with the programme training provider and obtain any personal information needed to begin your employment
Start
You'll then be ready to join us on your Apprenticeship programme
